SOLASTALGIA is a sci-fi vocal performance that unfolds at dusk, in the wild landscape of Sydhavnstippen—one of Copenhagen’s few untamed and partially protected natural areas. You are invited into a near future, guided by Arcadia, a nomadic community that has emerged in the aftermath of societal collapse. With wild voices, ritual gestures, and immersive presence, they lead you through an alternative world shaped by loss, resilience, and longing.
The performance is unique each evening. Dogs, alpacas, or passersby may unexpectedly join the cast. Small audience groups are guided on parallel paths, offering multiple ways of encountering the story.
Solastalgia—the title—names the homesickness we feel while still at home, when our familiar environment begins to change beyond recognition. In this work, inspired by the tradition of professional mourning women, the performers sing their longing for a lost world, for home, for healing.
Originally presented as a 48-hour durational work in 2021, SOLASTALGIA returns in a new form—an encounter with voice, grief, and wild nature.
